Sadly, in the past an unethical competitor who was kicked out of The United Inventors Association for scamming inventors and friends with a WSJ News reporter called me to attend an event, promising it would be a great opportunity for my career and business. As a result, I attended and the next thing I knew, negative, false statements that I do not believe and would never say even if paid to about the product development industry I love so much appeared in the news. Fact, I never had a WSJ news interview, nor agreed to a WSJ news interview or made aware that I may appear in the WSJ news. Nor said what was published. At this event a news reporter asked, " if I wanted to be in the news" and I said, "not at this time." We chatted for a minute, and a few words I and others said to help protect inventors by sharing education about 1999 American Inventors Protection Act was taken out of context to appear inaccurately in WSJ news.
The following year, this competitor who called me to attend this event while flirting with the WSJ news reporter most of the night was soon after kicked out of The United Inventors Association for being unethical. As a result of working with companies seen in the news hurting many inventors. As reported about in Inventors Digest Magazine and NBC News: https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna4863987 .
A competitor seen in the news with 100 lawsuits hurting startups and scamming the public to be sued by the Attorney General of NJ and FTC was likely behind this fake news press in the WSJ. Since their vendor called me to attend this event, where soon after I was slandered in news and online. This is the only company I had a conflict with, more details follow. When I called the WSJ to try and remove fake news about me this competitor called and said, " If I try to remove the WSJ news article more trouble will emerge for you." I did not listen, soon after my car was broken into, received a threat and much worse. I had to meet the police for help. * I just want the public to know the truth behind this fake news that may of been paid press to damage my good reputation, so more clients would go to my competitors and not my business. Sadly, in life some want to help and others try to bring you down; strive to find great people and supporters of your dreams to be friends and work with.
It is important to note the media at times reports only parts of the truth, creates fake news and drama to attract readers and advertisers. As a result, we must not trust everything we read in the news or online. Studies also confirm fake news is being created more often on social media and even news sites, to attract more engagement and advertisers. **Distrust in the media is sadly at a near all time high as a result of creating and spreading fake news, as reported by Statista.com: " Trust in the media is at an all-time low. " In 2022, an annual survey found that two thirds of U.S. adults reported little or no trust in the mass media to report the news accurately and fairly. https://www.statista.com/topics/3251/fake-news/#topicOverview .

To conclude, take time to get to know people heart to heart or we may miss out on a gem if we only trust what we read online. Keep in mind, the WSJ is owned by Dow Jones recently sued for $787 million creating fake news about the 2020 election:

I asked the WSJ to share proof I said what was published and none was provided nor my request to edit the article honored. As a result, I'm taking action to set the record straight.
As we now understand, fake news is one of the biggest problems in the world and online. We must all work together to report and correct fake news for the benefit of the public. Luckily AI and various technologies are reducing fake news and the spread of misinformation, however more must be done. The lesson I wish to teach is, take time to get to know people in real life and do not trust everything you read online.
Since May, 2024 LinkedIn is showing inaccurate information about me on search engines as the voice of the Jolly Green Giant and announcer at a network, 100% not true. Search engines and AI make mistakes at times causing more incorrect data to be found online. This problem I aim to reduce in the world. If an investor, please contact since I now have a new product in R&D to reduce the creation and spread of fake news.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Darrell Thomas Fertakos
